Blessings continue to pour down on the LWML. In gratitude to our giving God, we announce that the first grant, Church Worker Student Grant, has been partially paid with the intention of paying the second half at the end of 2021. See a picture of the partial Grant payment! The reason for this is the "need" parameter. Our guidelines say that the funds should be put to use within a reasonable amount of time. With the Church Worker Student Grant money, we know that half will be disbursed in the summer of 2021 and half in 2022 to students preparing for full time work in the church at one of our Concordia Universities. The Executive Committee chose to proceed by making a first payment of $15,000 which was presented to Dr. Chris Cody at the District office on December 8 by Kristen Kollel. The second half will be paid out toward the end of 2021.
Another big praise is the fact that the second grant, Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church Ministry Outreach, for $12,000 will be presented at the end of December. This money is used by the faithful members at Bethany to do their community outreach projects in Milwaukee. Our words are not enough to express what awe and wonder we have for the Baby Jesus, His loving Father, and the Holy Spirit who are alive and continue to move among God's people in ways seen and unseen.
