By now the Food and Clothing Bank at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN has in their possession the $10,000 mite grant money which fulfills the 4th on our 2022-2024 Mite Grant List. Praise God that students studying for church ministry positions can make use of the Co-op to supplement their food/household needs. Imagine all the different ways that your mite gifts support the work of spreading Jesus all over the world. Even to the point of feeding children of dedicated students studying to be pastors and deaconesses.
The beginning of 2023 brings us to the halfway point of our Mission Grant Goal of $205,000. While we are a bit behind (based on the monthly sum needed), there is no doubt that God can and does provide. The next grant is $15,000 in support of Outreach to Female Inmates. The district, and current pastoral leadership at the House of Correction, see the need for a deaconess to reach out to the female incarcerated population. This, being a new endeavor, and with an unknown future, will most certainly need God's mighty hand of blessing. We, as LWML, can help by being an encouragement to pursue these goals. with the next grant. Watch the lwml-swd.org website under "Mites" to monitor the progress and continue to give your own mites.
