Grant # 2, chosen at convention in June, 2020, is Bethany Ev Lutheran Church Ministry Outreach. God looked down upon the circle of folks around Bethany Church on the north side of Milwaukee where Pastor Chris Ikanih and his flock continue to minister. Outreach programs this will go to support are the The Kids for Christ program, food pantry, soup kitchen, Bible classes, distribution of school supplies, and their ministry to the homeless. LWML  SWD, with the help of Joanna Ellis, member of Bethany and Heart to Heart Sisters Chairperson, who presented the check for $12,000 on Dec. 20, rejoices with them to see yet another grant funded.  See a picture of the Grant Check presentation.

Over the next 18 months, we anticipate that mites will be pouring in since there are eleven grants left to pay in addition to the remainder of Grant # 1. Grant # 1 was paid half ($15,000) and will receive the remaining in 2021 when their need arises to pay out scholarships to church work students through the District Office. Continue to pray about, collect and mail in those mites.

It is not too early to begin thinking about the next biennium grants (2022-2024). Deadline for submission is October 31, 2021.
